We perform the following:
- simple extractions;
- frenectomies (removal of frenal tissue that limits movement in the mouth);
- gingivectomies (removal of excess gums); and
- biopsies to test for oral cancer.
In many soft-tissue procedures, we use Waterlase dentistry, which requires little or no needle anesthesia.
In addition to performing cleanings (prophylaxis) for patients who do not have periodontal disease, we also treat early stages of periodontal or gum disease. The treatment involves deep scaling and root planing using local anesthesia. During this procedure, our hygienist removes the plaque, bacteria, and tartar around your teeth that caused the infection in your gums. You normally need two appointments if your entire mouth needs treatment. If you have severe periodontal disease, we will refer you to a periodontal specialist.
